Técare is a Canadian beauty retailer of skincare for mature skin, backed by research, built on service, and guided by decades of hands-on industry experience. Their mission is simple: make skincare smart, approachable, and empowering for women in their 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond. We partnered with Sonya Gankina, SEO copywriting and keyword research specialist to provide the website copy.
A Sophisticated Shift
We totally updated Técare’s previous Shopify site with a bold and sophisticated new colour palette and premium theme with custom CSS updates. The theme was then further customized to allow for more functionality and advanced filtering options.
The home page showcases their best-selling skincare products, FAQ and establishes the Técare core values. We included sections with links to their About and Education pages. Product collections were showcased so customers have multiple ways to shop by skin type or product type.
From Design to Development
We created a design brief with a bold and sophisticated new colour palette to complement Técare’s product selection. The core palette is a soft-white background, which is paired with a deep red to add richness and contrast.
From the design brief, we further refined our design by creating a first draft in Shopify. We refined our design through 2 versions with the final version presented to the client for approval.
Custom Product Pages
Enriched product information
Custom product pages are enriched with metafields to show off key information for customers.
With a wide range of product types, brands and key ingredients, these customizations are vital to display more than a plain product description. Additional information like ingredients, how to use and product benefits are displayed based on individual product data.
Easy Filtering & Sorting
Product metafields were created for extra functionality and ease of use for anyone browsing the site. Customers can now filter by brand, skin type or product, making the shopping experience even better.
Smart Collections were also created so customers can quickly shop by skin concern or brand. Educational and how to use videos were included on product pages to help customers choose the right product for their unique needs.

The existing product descriptions were streamlined to enhance SEO. To optimize the UX design of product pages, any additional product information was migrated into metafields to make the shopping experience more enjoyable.

We researched and installed a premium theme, which was carefully customized to better compliment the Técare brand.
To showcase Técare’s dedication to education and research, we created custom About Us and Education pages, as well as FAQ sections to tell the brand’s unique story.
